On Wednesday, Year 5 enjoyed their trip to the STEM Discovery Centre. They were able to see a Mars Rover prototype, programme their own space buggies, create a miniature solar system to explore the earths rotation around the sun and explore the many fantastic activities in the exploration zone.
The Round Diamond table tennis team today continued their amazing success by representing Hertfordshire in the National Zone 7 finals in London.
Here they battled the best teams from Essex, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and Kent. After a fantastic team performance, Tomi, Pablo, Fillip and Brayden manged to qualify for the semi finals, which they won.
In the final they competed with the only team that they didn’t manage to beat during the group stage- a school from Essex that had won the previous year’s competition.
A close fought final saw RD victorious and we now go on to the next zone final with teams from the midlands and London in Bristol in early February.
A huge well done to the team and a big Thank You to Mr Pallant and Mr Wickens for accompanying the children today.
Pupil Parliament were out and about in the community this week.
During their weekly meetings, the children have been designing posters to remind the children, in our school and the community, about the correct use of the local crossings. Two of our governors joined us and helped to display these posters.
